Did Nicki Minaj recently show in a roundabout way that she and Taylor Swift are still on good terms? The 33-year-old singer’s new track, “Anti-Hero,” has some of the lines that the 40-year-old rapper repeated on Twitter this week for her followers, whom she referred to as her “barbz.” The tweets didn’t include an explanation from her, but many people responded to them.

Nicki’s first tweet about Taylor stated, “I should not be left to my own vices.” She continued with another that alluded to the song’s chorus. It included two emojis, a face and a unicorn, and stated, “It must be hard continually rooting for the Anti-hero.”

Her followers quickly tweeted their own messages as the tweets became widely known. One person referred to her as a “swiftie,” the term for Taylor Swift’s followers, while another person referred to the tweets as “awesome.” Others thought she was making a suggestion about a potential future partnership with the Midnights developer. One tweet posed the query, “What are you two up to?

Nicki’s initial tweet announcing the nominees stated, “If your video glorifies women with incredibly tiny physique, you will be nominated for vid of the year.” “All I’ve done is love and support you. You shouldn’t compare ladies to one another. Perhaps one of the guys took your place,” Taylor said. Also, she stipulated that if she won, Nicki may join her on stage.

Once Nicki insisted her tweet was not about Taylor, the “Fearless” crooner publicly apologized and explained why she responded the way she did. “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki,” she wrote. Nicki accepted her apology and praised her for taking the step to make amends. The two went on to take the stage together for a performance at the 2015 VMAs, proving all was well between them.

Since that time, Nicki and Taylor’s relationship has appeared to be stable. In the crowd at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, the latter was spotted grooving out to the former’s performance of her biggest songs, and Nicki’s most recent tweets appear to show their friendship and admiration for one another remain in tact.
